Joel Alan Weeks, 48, 608 S. Maple St., was charged with driving while barred and third-offense operating while intoxicated 7:11 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of South Maple and Monroe streets.
According to a Creston Police report, at 6:56 p.m. Tuesday, officers were dispatched to a possible intoxicated driver on South Maple. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle driving and pulling over to the side of the road. Officers approached, and observed Weeks driving the vehicle. Weeks has a barred driver’s license. Weeks had the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person, did make admissions to drinking and had alcoholic beverages in the passenger seat. Other observations were made by officers. Weeks refused standard field sobriety tests, preliminary breath testing and Data Master testing.
Weeks was being held awaiting appearance before the magistrate.
