Dan Holker Winterset

Dan Holker, 57, of Winterset, formerly of Creston, died June 29, 2015, in Madison County, as the result of a vehicle accident.

Celebration of life memorial services will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 6, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, Creston. Mary O'Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Carl Cemetery, northwest of Prescott. Open visitation will be 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday with family present 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family. Daniel Lee Holker, son of Cathryn (Antisdel) Holker and Doyle Holker, was born May 2, 1958, in Atlantic.

He lived in Lewis during his childhood years, then the family moved to the Cromwell and Creston area. Dan graduated from Creston High School.

On Aug. 9, 1980, Dan married Shirley Jackson in Cromwell.

They moved to Earlham, then Winterset.

Dan is survived by his wife Shirley Holker of Winterset; son Josh Holker of Winterset; daughter Jackie (husband Mike) Steele of Adel; mother Cathryn Holker of Creston; sisters, Christy (husband Ralph) Goddard of Creston, Roxanne (husband Bill) Keesler of Des Moines and Angie (husband Dan) McIntosh of Creston; brother Jim (wife Deb) Holker of Creston; grandchildren, Josie, Jorja, Jilly and Brock; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dan was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Opal and Lawrence Antisdel and Henry and Pearl Holker; and a niece and nephew, Pearl and Bert Conard.
