Helen Linderman, 90, of Creston died June 11, 2015, at Crest Haven Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 15, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. The Rev. Kenneth Halbur Jr. will officiate. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Open visitation will be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday with family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a 7 p.m. Christian Wake Service at Pearson Family Funeral Service, 809 W. Helen Lucille Linderman, daughter of Martha Cecilia (Raeder) and Edward Patrick McElroy, was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Creston.
Helen graduated from Creston High School and was a lifelong resident of the Creston area.
On Aug. 21, 1947, Helen married Howard Mason Linderman.
Helen worked as a bookkeeper for J.C. Penney for four years prior to her marriage and continued until they started their family. Helen managed the Hallmark Store for several years. She also worked for Casey’s and the Gummy Bear Outlet Store.
Helen was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Altar Society.
Helen is survived by her sons, Dave (Chris) Linderman of Creston, Dick (Deb) Linderman of Sedalia, Mo., and Dennis (Kenda) Linderman of Creston; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother John (Kathleen) McElroy of Dannebrog, Neb.; sisters, Mary McElroy of Creston, Ethel (Jim) Herring of Marion, Jean Vais of Anita and Patricia Knock of New York, N.Y.; sister-in-law Maxine McElroy of Creston; brothers-in-law, Henry Kernen of Villisca and Dick Kuhl of Greenfield; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2004; sisters, Katherine Kuhl and Margaret Kernen; brother Kenneth McElroy; brother-in-law Francis Vais; and sister-in-law Roseann McElroy.
