LIBERTY CENTER — Eighth-grader Kayla Wookey hit a three-run home run in the top of the 10th inning here Monday, and Murray held on for a 7-6 win.

Wookey’s home run gave Murray a 7-4 lead in the 10th, but Southeast Warren rallied to score two more in the bottom half of the inning.

Murray held a two-run lead going into the bottom of the seventh inning, but Southeast Warren tied the game and forced extra innings.

McKenzie Case hit a two-out RBI single in the top of the seventh inning for Murray.

The Lady Mustangs improved to 2-1 for the season with the win.

Mormon Trail 15, O-M 3

GARDEN GROVE — Orient-Macksburg scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but Mormon Trail plated seven in the fourth inning to break the game open in a 15-3 win here Monday.

Rylee Woosley hit a two-run double and Jensen Carson drove in a run with a single in the first inning.

Behle Ott finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double. Woosley took the loss in the circle, giving up 15 runs on six hits and 12 walks.

Mount Ayr 0

MARTENSDALE — Mount Ayr registered just one hit in a 12-0 loss in three innings here Monday to Martensdale-St. Marys.

Caroline McAlexander recorded the only hit of the game for the Raiderettes, singling to right field. She also got her first career start in the pitching circle in the game.

“They are a very good hitting team with lots of speed and talent,” Mount Ayr head coach Ranae Klinkefus said about Martensdale-St. Marys.
