Mother Nature wins again at ACS

CORNING — Mother Nature made a late surge last week to secure her fourth win of the 2015 season and her third consecutive win at ACS.

The May 30 show at ACS had promised to be a competitive one as May 23’s rain shortened event meant that four classes would run double features on Saturday night.

However, heavy rain on Friday night, followed by light rain on Saturday prompted ACS officials to cancel racing at ACS on Saturday night.

On the rescheduled Iowa Corn District 7 Committee Night, the Super Late Model Racing Series presented by Budweiser takes to the half mile with some of the top names of SLMR such as Kyle Berck, Tad Pospisil and Corey Zeitner looking to compete with ACS contenders like Paul Glendenning, John Hampel, JC Wyman and Sterling Perkins in a non-points sanctioned race.

Double features

This week at ACS, the Chat Mobility Hobby Stocks, POET Biorefining Modifieds and Northland Pro-Stocks will run not one, but two A-Features to make up for the May 23 rainout. With all this racing action, the Coors Light Silver Bullet Late Models will run their double feature on June 13.

Be sure to tune your radio dial to 101.3 KSIB Creston Radio at 7 p.m. Tuesday nights to catch all the latest Adams County Speedway information on the new racing program “When The Dust Settles.”

Host Trevor Maeder will have an array of guests to share stories and opinions each and every week.

The new program has been graced with guests like Kevin Sharp and Chuck Hulett, with many more to come. Have something you’d like to hear about on next week’s program? Then drop a line to Adams County Speedway on Facebook.

Military Night

The speedway staff thanks the Corning Iowa National Guard for bringing down an armored Hummer and the NASCAR tire changing machine and for their service.

Also appreciated was the Lutheran Brotherhood for their support and invocation. And, the Iowa Patriot Guard Riders for their presentation of the colors and their service. The Iowa Patriot Guard Riders were led by SR Ride Captain Jack Kenkel.
