Donald Trump plans Winterset visit June 27

WINTERSET — American business magnate and television personality Donald Trump will stop in Winterset on June 27 to meet with residents and speak at the Madison County Republican Roundup Barbecue.

The evening’s events will include a 5 p.m. meet-and-greet with Trump and U.S. Rep. David Young at the John Wayne Museum, followed by a 6 p.m. barbecue dinner and Trump’s keynote speech at Winterset High School.

Other speakers providing remarks will include Young, National GOP committeewoman Tamara Scott, Iowa Rep. Stan Gustafson and Iowa Sen. Julian Garrett.

Tickets cost $50 for the entire evening or $25 for the dinner and speech and are available at the Madison County GOP website: http://madisoncoiagop.org/.

According to the Associated Press, the 68-year-old Trump has launched a presidential exploratory committee and is still deciding whether to join a Republican presidential race that officially includes nine candidates, with more likely to join in the coming months.

Trump had considered making a bid for the 2012 Republican presidential candidacy but formally announced his decision not to run in May of 2011.

Trump has made his living as a real estate developer and is also known as the host of the NBC reality show “The Apprentice.” According to Forbes, Trump currently has a net worth of $4.1 billion.
