No citations were issued after an accident 8:01 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of North Lincoln and West Townline streets.
According to a Creston Police report, Rickie Allen Foster, 49, 600 S. Pine St., driving a 1999 Ford west on West Townline, slowed in preparation to turn left onto North Lincoln and failed to yield the right of way to a 1992 BMW driven east on West Townline by Robert Milo Drake, 86, 906 N. Chestnut St. Drake was preparing to travel straight in the inside lane of West Towline when he approached the green light. Two uninvolved vehicles were eastbound in the inside lane preparing to turn left on North Lincoln, and without slowing down, Drake legally changed into the right lane to move around the uninvolved vehicles. The uninvolved vehicles may have caused a visual obstruction for Foster and Drake. Drake’s vehicle did not slow until after the accident. Foster is as fault for the accident.
Damage estimates are $4,000 to Foster’s vehicle and $4,000 to Drake’s vehicle.
