Creston Fire Department responded to a structure fire 4:35 a.m. today on East Howard Street.
According to a Creston Fire report, firefighters responded to the report of a house on fire at 909 E. Howard St., owned and occupied by Steven Brown. Upon arrival, firefighters performed a size-up. Firefighters on Rescue 3 arrived and made entry into the structure. They extinguished the fire in the basement. Firefighters on ladder 1 and engine 2 assisted with ventilation and overhaul. The cause of the fire was electrical.
Damage estimate is $32,000.
