AmeriCorps summer day camp registration now open

Union County Extension in partnership with their summer AmeriCorps members are will be hosting 13 day camps and 4-H workshops this summer. These interactive camps provide youth with the opportunity to engage with others and venture into discovery. Camps are available for anyone from kindergarten to eighth grade. 4-H workshops are open to both 4-H and non-4-H members between fourth and 12th grade. Join the fun.

The day camps are organized and led by AmeriCorps members. This summer’s AmeriCorps members include Lane Miller, Ericka Abell, Maddie Skarda and Savannah Hartman.

“Currently my co-workers and I have been working on organizing the first camp which is called ‘Dr. Seuss is on the Loose!’ scheduled for June 2. Some of Dr. Seuss’s most memorable books such as ‘Cat in the Hat,’ ‘Horton Hears a Who,’ and ‘Oh, the Places You Will Go’ will be featured during the camp as we plan games, crafts and learning pieces around these books,” Abell said.
