Library news

The following are titles and events at Gibson Memorial Library, 200 W. Howard St. Regular library hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays; and closed Sundays. The library is on Facebook.

Summer Reading Programs

This year’s summer reading programs begin June 1 and ends July 24. “Be a Hero Read!” is the program with special events for children birth to fifth grade. “Unmask!” is the teen program complete with activities for youth grades six through 12. “Escape the Ordinary” is the adult program. Preschool story time will be held at 10 a.m. on the following dates: June 5, 12, 19, and 26; July 3, 10, 17, and 24. Pick up a brochure at the library to learn more.

Iowa Author Visits

Iowa author Judy Lindgren Johnson will be visiting the library 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. June 8. She will be here for a signing of her book “Crazy Jake’s Treasure.”
