Farm Credit Services of America awards Creston FFA

Farm Credit Services of America, one of the nations leading agricultural lending and risk management institutions, awarded the Creston FFA Chapter $5,000 to add to their new hydroponics laboratory project.

Farm Credit Services of America contributes more than $225,000 annually in sponsorship and scholarships to high school and university agriculture programs, ag leadership programs, 4-H and FFA. FCSAmerica also contributes to hunger initiatives, in 2013 FCSAmerica contributed more than $67,000 in donations to local food banks and organizations that serve the immediate hunger needs of their four-state territory (Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Wyoming).

Creston FFA’s hydroponics laboratory project captured both agriculture education enhancement, as well as serving the community with anticipated vegetables harvested from laboratory which will be donated to the Creston Food Pantry and Creston Schools food service.

“We appreciate and thank Farm Credit for their support in helping us enhance the technology and learning opportunities in our agriculture classroom as well as helping our FFA chapter and members grow through agricultural education,” FFA President Zach Hoffman said.
