Academic All-State

Three Creston/O-M wrestlers were honored on The Predicament’s 2015 Academic All-State.

The teams are selected on the basis of excellence in the classroom and on the wrestling mat. There were 127 wrestlers nominated this year, with just 43 selected on one of the two teams or for honorable mention.

Panthers Tayler Pettit and Wyatt Thompson were named to the second Academic All-State team and Seth Maitlen received honorable mention.

This year’s team has an average GPA of 3.95. There are eight state champions and 34 state placewinners on the teams. Each honored wrestler receives a certificate from The Predicament, an Iowa-based wrestling publication.

Publisher G. Wyatt Schultz informed coaches of the 2015 honorees this week.
