STEM Day Camp a success

Twenty six youths participated in a day camp put on by Haley Jones, county youth and outreach coordinator in Union County, last Saturday.

This camp was a chance for kindergarten through fifth-graders to dive into STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) as they tested their creative minds by creating their own hand pollinators.

Guest speaker PF Allen came in and spoke about bee keeping and her experiences. The group of youth had an opportunity to try on her bee keeping suit.

Union County Extension and Outreach will be offering day camps all summer starting in June. Flyers will go out to schools before summer with camp details.
