Lady Tiger Relays
RED OAK — Lenox had a respectable showing here Monday in the large-school class of the rescheduled Lady Tiger Relays, finishing a close fourth place.
Clarinda won the team title with 151 points, followed by Council Bluffs St. Albert with 107 points. Host Red Oak edged Lenox by six points, 86-80, for third place. Southwest Valley finished sixth with 48 points.
Lenox senior Katie Dukes collected three gold medals, two coming in individual events.
Dukes ran 1:03.42 to win by more than 1 second in the 400 meter dash over St. Albert’s Krisann Stephanny. Dukes came back later in the meet to win the 800 meters by 4 seconds in 2:34.71.
The Tiger senior anchored the sprint medley relay team to victory in a close race with St. Albert. The Tiger team of Mika Weaver, Makinna Fitzgerald, Aurora Arevalo and Dukes ran 1:59.49 to edge out St. Albert, which ran 1:59.89.
Arevalo also collected individual gold, winning the shot put competition by more than 2 feet. Arevalo’s best throw measured 32-5.
Southwest Valley’s Shanna Saunders won the discus competition in dominant fashion, winning by more than 6 feet. Her best throw measured 86-11.
