Carolyn R. Cook, 48, of Prescott was charged on a Union County warrant for fourth-degree theft 10:53 p.m. Friday.
According to a Union County Sheriff report, on or about May 29, 2014, Cook purchased goods and services from Cook’s Video and Appliance, 706 E. Taylor St. Cook uttered a check in the amount of $228.51 in exchange for said goods and services. The check was drawn on from First National Bank, 101 W. Adams St. The check had been returned by the local bank marked account closed. No arrangements have been made for payment of the check. The merchant has incurred services charges in the amount of $30. The total amount due is $258.51.
Cook was released on $1,000 bond.
