Joshua James Warren Merboth, 27, 321 S. Walnut St., was charged with driving while suspended 4:04 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of South Birch and East Monroe streets.

According to a Creston Police report, at 4:07 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Merboth. Merboth’s driver’s license came back suspended through National Crime Information Center. Merboth was taken into custody, transported to Union County Law Enforcement Center and charged.

Merboth was released on $300 bond.

Coty Allen Savage, 27, 301 W. Adams St. Apt. 29, was charged with possession of marijuana 4:04 p.m. Tuesday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Savage was in possession of a controlled substance, marijuana. During an investigation concerning a complaint made by Savage of sounds coming from his apartment, officers observed plant material consistent with marijuana in plain view inside Savage’s apartment. The product was field tested and tested positive for marijuana.

Savage was being held on $1,000 bond.
