Upset

From Marsha Wilson

Creston

At this very second I am crying, mad, upset and just do not understand people and animals. I open up Facebook this morning and the first thing I see is a very sad picture of someone’s dog that was found dead down by Diagonal. I scroll on down and a picture of a dog in Greenfield that is starving and people are trying to catch it to feed and try to find a home for it.

I knew this would happen, at holiday time those cute little puppies, kitten, rabbits, ducks, chicks or whatever are just so precious and the kids would just love them to death. So yep they go get these animals, supposedly to give them a “forever home” and what happens — gee all these cute little things grow up, then they require things like taking them for walks, making sure they get all the shots needed, and they are not big and not able to cuddle. They grow up just like people do. So then off we go. They are either dropped off in the country, at the pound or wherever, hoping someone will take them in, or who knows what else happens to them.

People STOP adopting, buying these animals if you are not committed forever. Each and every day on Creston Swap there is a “free animal” and funny most of them want a “rehoming fee” ... come on ... get real.

Yes, I can be mad and say it as it is. I have two boxers that were rescued from abuse and owners sick of them, another one rescued from the city pound and another one rescued from out in the country at some farm house, running with no one caring. If my family could, we would rescue each and every one that needed help, but we all know that isn’t possible.

Thank goodness we have people like Dog Gone Rescue and the CARE group that will try to help these poor animals find that forever home. If you are not planning on taking these animals through all the stages of life, then don’t take them. They are just like a child, you must be willing to go through each stage of their growing up.
