Game night

Creston activities director Jeff Bevins has announced an updated schedule for Creston’s girls and boys basketball games here Feb. 6 against Red Oak.

At Creston Middle School, the junior varsity boys game will begin at 5:45 p.m., followed by the freshman girls game at 7:15 p.m. No boys freshman game will be played.

At Creston High School, action begins with the JV girls game at 4:30 p.m., followed by the girls varsity game at 6 p.m. and boys varsity game at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Murray girls

Due the fact that the Murray girls basketball team is playing four games in the conference tournament, the games scheduled on Tuesday, Feb. 10, against Mormon Trail will only be girls JV and varsity boys, beginning at 6 p.m.

Senior parents night will be moved to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, against Moulton-Udell at 6 p.m.

Little league

Registration is underway for Creston Baseball/Softball Inc. leagues for the upcoming season.

The registration fee of $40 per child includes a shirt and hat/visor. Make checks payable to Creston Baseball/Softball Inc.

A new feature this year is a multiple child discount for families. First child will be $40, second child is $35, third child is $30. If more than three are playing from the same family, contact the board by email at crestonbseballsoftball@gmail.com.

The entry fee must accompany registration. Forms are available at local schools.

Registration deadline is Feb. 13. Entries can be sent to Creston Baseball/Softball Inc., P.O. Box 522, Creston, IA 50801.

Men’s league

Results and standings from Creston Parks and Recreation Department’s men’s basketball league:

Jan. 15 results — Carroll Chiropractic 64, Waigand Farms 57; Old Timers 57, Wellman’s 55.

Jan. 18 results — Waigand Farms 61, Wellman’s 55; Carroll Chiropractic 64, Bulldogs 63.

Standings — Carroll Chiropractic 2-0, Old Timers 1-0, Waigand Farms 1-1, Bulldogs 0-1, Wellman’s 0-2.
