7-year-old Iowa boy died after dog’s attack, sheriff says

COLLEGE SPRINGS (AP) — Authorities say a 7-year-old boy has died after being attacked by the family dog in southwest Iowa.

Page County Sheriff Lyle Palmer says deputies were sent to a home in College Springs a little before 5 p.m. Thursday.

They found medics were already on the scene.

Palmer says the boy was taken to Clarinda Regional Health Center, where he was pronounced dead at 5:50 p.m.

The boy’s name and other information about the attack have not been released.

The sheriff says the attack is being investigated.
