Ladies Literary Circle

Sixteen members of Creston Ladies Literary Circle met Jan. 9 at the home of Judy Woods. The meeting was conducted by President Linda Hartsock. Secretary Jean E. Mark read the minutes of the previous meeting. In the absence of Treasurer Dyan Hoffman, Vanita Moberg delivered the treasurer’s report. All were approved as read.

Dora Coen of the Program Committee introduced Linda Hartsock who reviewed “Killing Patton” by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard. The review sparked comments as members recalled stories from relatives and friends who served in WWII.

Refreshments were served.

The next meeting will be Jan. 23 at the home of Ann Driskell, and the book, “Romeo, Juliet and More” will be reviewed by Vanita Moberg.

Kiwanis

The weekly Kiwanis meeting was held 12:05 p.m. Tuesday at The Windrow with 24 members. President Jane Lowe presided. Jane Lowe did the prayer, and Ken Norton was the finemaster.

The program was Ken Norton with Windstream who discussed the history of the internet and its beginnings as a high performance information highway what it has evolved into, starting with the Gore Act in 1991.

Ladies Lakeshore Auxiliary

Ladies Lakeshore Auxiliary met Jan. 14.

Canasta winners were Linda Clark, first; Beulah McDonald, second; and Barb Bills, third.

Gwen Sandeman won the door prize.

Wanda Nash will be hostess for cards and chatter Wednesday, Jan. 21.
