Accidents

No citations were issued after an accident 4:46 p.m. Monday on Highway 34.

According to a Creston Police report, Rodney Wayne Taylor, 45, of Corning, driving a 2005 Pontiac west on Highway 34, went up over a curb off Highway 34, through a grass area, into a parking lot, continued on at a high rate of speed and hit a curb on the west side of the parking lot, which launched the vehicle through the air and into the side of a ditch. The vehicle was believed to be totaled. Taylor said he felt fine but had no idea what happened. Taylor said he choked, coughed and believed he passed out. Tracks were found that were in line with the vehicle’s movements. The driver and passenger side air bags deployed in the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to F and M Bodyshop.

Medical was called to check on Taylor, and transferred him to Greater Regional Medical Center because of chest pains. Taylor’s condition is unknown at this time.

Damage estimate is $10,000 to Taylor’s vehicle.

Jess Samuel Hartle, 19, 505 W. Mills St., was cited for striking an unattended vehicle after an accident 6:58 p.m. Monday at the intersection of West Montgomery and North Division streets.

According to a Creston Police report, Hartle, driving a 1988 Honda south on North Division, didn’t see a 2002 Ford legally parked on North Division and ran into the back of the Ford.

Damage estimates are $2,000 to Hartle’s vehicle and $1,000 to the parked Ford.
