An employer basic training workshop will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 4 at The Pizza Ranch, 520 Livingston Ave., Creston. This workshop is for human resources professionals, business owners, managers and supervisors to learn what they need to know when employing Guards and Reservists.
Topics include:
• Understanding a resume written in military language. Tips in translating.
• How to find military employee/veterans. Resources available with no fees attached.
• Helpful sites: www.jcep.info, www.h2h.jobs, www.iowaworkforce.org.
• Role of employer support of Guard and Reserve
• Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act – the law it as it pertains to military employees, rights and requirements.
