Steven Freeman Miller, 72, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at his home. He was born August 3, 1942 in Creston, Iowa to Joseph and Margaret (Spencer) Miller.
Steven graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in education. He received his Master’s in education from the University of Nebraska. He retired in 2004 from the State of Iowa where he served as Deputy Treasurer for 22 years. Steven was a member of the Genealogy Society and the South Side Senior Center. He volunteered at the Salisbury House and at the election polls.
He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth (Frank) Kram; brother, Joseph Robert Miller; nephews, Scott Kram and Timothy (Christal) Kram; nieces, Colleen Miller and Donna Miller; and a host of friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Sean Miller.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Ave. Steven will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Creston, Iowa.
