Louise Jones Lenox

Louise Jones, 93, of Lenox died Sept. 18, 2014, in Creston.

Celebration of life services were 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, at Lenox United Methodist Church. Interment was in North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox. Ritchie Funeral Home, 124 S. Ila Louise (Jeanes) Jones, daughter of Mary Etta (Bye) and James “Billy” Jeanes, was born Feb. 15, 1921, in rural Ringgold County.

Louise grew up in the rural Mount Ayr area and graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1939. She then taught for one year at a country school.

On Aug. 7, 1940, Louise married Alva Jones in Mount Ayr.

Louise and Alva raised their family on the farm near Clearfield. They lived and worked there until 1997, when they moved to Lenox.

Louise was a member of the United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.

Louise is survived by her children, Ronald and Shirley Jones of Joplin, Mo., Donald and Sharon Jones of Washington,Vicki and Dennis Huffman of Melcher and Nancy and David Riley of Lenox; grandchildren, Mike (Mary) Jones, Mitch (René) Jones, Melissa (Richard) Brown, Manda McClure, Kurt (Jessica) Jones, Greg (Laurie) Jones, Marcy (Ron) Fadness, Lisa (Dave) Lentell, Allison Riley, Aaron (Stephanie) Riley and Alyssa Riley; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Louise and Ruth Jones, Jessica, Andrea, Sara, Mallory (Cesar) Aguilar, Ben, Lauren, Mark, Nathan, Luke, Mathew, John and Thomas Jones, Samuel and Jacob Brown, Hayden McClure, Kessa, Justice and Amara Jones, Ryker and Henley Jones, Laurel and Erick Fadness, Nastia and Alex Lentell and Megan, Savannah and Alexis Riley; great-great-granddaughter Meckinley Aguilar; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbors and friends.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, parents; sisters, Merle Greeley, Emiline Jeanes, Doris Freeman, Margaret Matthews and Evelyn Reynolds; and brothers, Lloyd, Paul, Ned, Robert and Donald Jeanes.
