Panorama Invite

PANORA — The Nodaway Valley boys cross country team, ranked fourth in Class 1A, scored 23 points in winning the Class B division of the Panorama Invitational here on Thursday.

The Wolverines finished 60 points ahead of second-place Tri-Center.

Shane Breheny won the Class B race in 18:03.13. He was joined in the top 10 by teammates Nate Venteicher (fourth), Heath Downing (fifth), Brayten Funke (sixth) and Brycen Wallace (seventh).

Orient-Macksburg was led by Cameron Walker in 40th place, running 21:21.96. Mount Ayr was led by Will Hunt, running 23:27.43 for 63rd.

On the girls side, Nodaway Valley junior Destiny Scar won the Class B race in 16:53.45. Mount Ayr’s Adrian Richards finished eighth in 18:34.58 to lead the Raiderettes to a sixth-place finish out of nine teams.

SWV Invite

CORNING — Lenox’s Jacob Bolinger finished sixth overall here Thursday at the Southwest Valley Invitational.

Senior Lane Peterson paced the host Timberwolves, finishing 18th overall. East Union was led by Casey Walter and Kaleb Bartlett, who finished 36th and 37th, respectively.

On the girls side, East Union finished third out of seven teams with 90 points after being paced by Emma Harper and Alyssa Proffitt both placing in the top 10.

Harper won the meet, running 17:56 over the 4K course. Proffitt finished sixth in 19:13.

Southwest Valley was led by Kendra Top, running 20:04 for 15th place. Lenox’s Ashley Lucio finished 24th in 21:21.
