Grammy-winner Carole King to stop in Creston Friday

Carole King — singer/songwriter and political activist — will be at the Creston Democratic office approximately 11:45 a.m. Friday.

King — a four-time Grammy winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee — is campaigning on behalf of  Bruce Braley,
Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate. She has written or co-written more than 400 songs that have been recorded by more than 1,000 artists.

Most recently she has become an activist in the political arena. She brings in experience with environmental issues and forest wilderness preservation. She has testified before congress twice in support of environmental legislation.

In addition to penning American classics such as  "You've Got a Friend"  and  "I Feel the Earth Move," King is a long-time advocate for rural and environmental concerns. She is supporting Braley because she knows he is a commonsense problem solver who will fight for what is best for all Iowa families.

Creston Democratic office is located at 119 N. Elm St. in Creston.
