Patricia (Pat) Genners, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died peacefully at Northcare Hospice House on August 16, 2014, in Kansas City, Missouri. Her children were by her side and in her heart.
Pat was born June 21, 1935, in Creston, Iowa to Dorothy (Clinton) and Harold Mullin. She graduated from Creston High School and married Gary Genners, her husband of 57 years, on December 30, 1953. Pat and her family later moved to Glenwood, Iowa where she continued to work in the banking industry for ten years. Following a move from the area, she began an administrative career with the U.S. Department of Defense in Nebraska, Kansas and Alabama. Retirement brought Pat and Gary back to Creston for several years where she worked part-time at the hospital before an eventual move to Kansas City to be near their daughters. Throughout her life and many adventures, Pat considered her family to be her greatest accomplishment and was a huge source of pride for her.
Pat is survived by her son Randy (Caroline) of Jacksonville, Florida, daughters Kristy (David) and Patty (Darrin), of Kansas City, grandchildren Lisa, Christopher, Nicholas, Paul, Adam, Rachael and Brooke, brother Robert (Arleta) Mullin, of Creston, and sister Linda (Scott) Richardson of Kansas City.
