Response to city council vote

From Creston Library Board

Creston

The library board members were disappointed by the city council decision to sell the Lincoln School property despite the “for library purposes” designation at the time it was purchased, and our investment in planning, fundraising and utilities.

We recognize that this was a difficult decision for the city council, and we appreciate the commitment of everyone involved.

The number of supporters present was surprising. Those at the hearing demonstrated their commitment and reinforced our vision.

The advocates for our project have increased dramatically in the past few months. We are grateful for their support as we move forward, still thinking bigger to meet the needs of the community.
