Timothy Daniel Mullen, 27, of Orient was charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and firearms violation 10:15 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of North Vine Street.

According to a Creston Police report, a search warrant was executed Friday at a residence on North Vine Street. Mullen was at the residence removing items from a vehicle listed on the warrant application. During the investigation, Mullen was found to be possessing a loaded handgun on his person. Mullen had a Springfield XDM 45-caliber handgun that was loaded and placed in a holster inside his pants. Another loaded handgun was discovered in a bag containing a significant amount of methamphetamine and items indicating the sale of methamphetamine, such as packaging materials, scales and other items of drug paraphernalia. Mullen admitted to dealing methamphetamine. Mullen was in possession of several loaded weapons, including an AK-47 rifle with several hundred rounds of ammunition and a Remington shotgun that were loaded. Mullen had a permit to carry a concealed weapon, but because of the possession of illegal narcotics his permit was void.

Mullen was being held on $50,000 bond.

Nathan Charles Lens, 32, 310 N. Vine St., was charged with neglect of a child and firearms violation 12:10 a.m. Saturday at Union County Law Enforcement Center.

According to a Creston Police report, Lens was found to be in possession of several firearms that were located at his residence when a search warrant was executed. The weapons were loaded about his property where a child resides.

Lens was released on $5,000 bond.

Cadin Andrew Selsor, 20, of New Virginia was charged with operating while intoxicated and minor in possession of alcohol 2:05 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of North Cedar Street.

According to a Creston Police report, Selsor was found passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle while it was parked on a roadway.

Selsor was released on $1,000 bond.

Larry Dean Vanderpluym, 52, 1103 N. Birch St., was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, and on Union County warrants for violation of pretrial release on original charges of burglary and domestic abuse assault 10:15 a.m. Monday at his residence.

According to a Creston Police report, when officers went to charge Vanderpluym at his residence on Union County warrants, there was a marijuana pipe with marijuana in it in plain view sitting on a foot rest in front of a couch in the living room

Vanderpluym was being held on $10,000 bond.
