John Miller Osceola

John Miller, 74, of Osceola died July 19, 2014.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at Kale Funeral Home, 301 S. Main St., Osceola.

The Rev. Julie M. Poore will officiate. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to his family for a fitting tribute to be decided at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.kalefuneralhome.com.

John Raymond Miller (Rooney), son of Margaret Lucille (Cameron) and Frances Dean Miller, was born April 1, 1940, in Clearfield.

He attended school in Clearfield.

John drove a truck for his uncle until he married Gale Mae Fearnot in 1960. They were married at the Baptist Church in Bedford.

John worked for a farmer for four years, then went to work for a W.R. Grace in Creston. He managed the depot until it was closed. He then moved to Osceola in August 1977. John worked for Jimmy Dean Meat Company for 10 years, until he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and was no longer able to work.

When his daughter was too ill to care for her two children, he and his wife raised their grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife Gale; son Marvin (Terra); granddaughters, Sasha (Ben) Campbell, Sunshine (Stroup) Radcliffe and Hannah Miller; grandsons, Travis Stroup and Jared Coverdale; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Jaelynn Campbell; brothers, Larry (Sandy) Miller, Randy (Deb) Miller, Dennis (Lee) Lovejoy and Michael (Virginia) Lovejoy; sisters, Dixie (Bob) Kitchen, Sheryl (John) Killins and Sandy (Larry) Miller; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents, step-parents, grandparents, in-laws, daughter Pamela and sister Violet Campbell.
