No citations were issued after an accident 5:09 p.m. Friday at the intersection of West Townline Street and North Sumner Avenue.
According to a Creston Police report, Cody Michael Hudson, 26, 509 N. Oak St., driving a 2007 Ford east on West Townline, was stopped at the intersection of West Townline and North Sumner, continued through the intersection and struck a 2000 Chevrolet driven north on North Sumner by Danny Harold Westlake, 71, of Prescott. Westlake was also stopped at the intersection and proceeded to turn left onto West Townline at the same time Hudson proceeded into the intersection. Hudson said he thought he reached the intersection first and said a woman in a vehicle driven west on West Townline was waving her arm for him to go. Hudson said when he started to go, the woman in the vehicle started going also, so he sped up to get out of her way. Hudson did not see Westlake’s vehicle coming until it was too late and the vehicles hit.
Damage estimates are $2,000 to Hudson’s vehicle and $3,000 to Westlake’s vehicle.
