Charles Cundiff, 59, of Afton died April 8, 2014, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, Creston. Mary O'Riley will officiate. Burial will be private. Open visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family. Online condolences may be left at www.powersfh.com.

Charlie Lewis Cundiff, son of Lila Ruth (Lewis) and Leland David Cundiff, was born Dec. 16, 1954, in Creston.

Charlie graduated from Creston High School in 1973 and studied mechanics at Southwestern Community College.

He moved to Afton in 1987.

On Feb. 10, 2004, Charlie married Barbara Ann (LaMasters) in Creston.

Charlie worked at Wellmans and then built log cabins with his brother-in-law at Hall Brothers Construction. He later worked for Miracle Corp of Mount Ayr and then returned to his present job at Wellmans in foundry support.

He was formerly a member of the ABATE.

Charlie is survived by his wife Barb Cundiff of Afton; sons, Mark Blazek of Des Moines and Colby (wife Lisa) Blazek of Spencer; daughter Michelle (husband Chris) Franklin of Afton; brother David “Moose” Cundiff of Creston; sister Kathy (husband Earl) Hall of Creston; grandchildren, Jacob and Josie Franklin and Blake and Jett Blazek; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; aunt Marisue Lewis of Creston and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
