Duane Dunfee, 76, of Orient, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at Crest Haven Care Centre in Creston.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, at Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, Creston. The Rev. Dwayne Henrichs will officiate. Visitation with family will be 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. service time Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are to the family. Online condolences may be given at http://www.powersfh.com.
Duane Claude Dunfee, son of Doris Allyene (Briley) and Hazen Alva Dunfee, was born Jan. 9, 1937, in Thayer.
He graduated from Arispe High School and was in the Army Reserves.
On May 11, 1958, Duane married Marvel Viola (Mullen) in Arispe and lived in Creston all of their married life. They later divorced.
On Aug.1, 1981, Duane married Marilyn Colette Mohr in Creston. They first lived in Creston, then on a farm, and then in Orient.
Duane worked as a driver for the Department of Transportation.
Duane was a member of the Orient United Methodist Church and Creston Eagles Lodge No. 1398.
Duane is survived by his wife Marilyn Dunfee of Orient; two daughers, Roxanne Dunfee of Omaha, Neb. and Veronica (husband Randy) Tetrick of Hartford, Wisc.; step-daughter Bobbi (husband Eddie) Garcia of Texas; four granddaughters, Loretta (husband Dan) Umbenhower of Orient, Samantha Gaiser of Bridgewater, Tiffany Tetrick and Natalie Tetrick, both of Hartford, Wisc., and four great-grandchildren, Cadence, Ayden, Olivia and Clayton.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents, sister Gwen Dunfee and brother Gene Dunfee.
