Betty Palmitier, 90, of Creston died July 17, 2012, at Greater Regional Hospice Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at the First United Methodist Church in Creston. The Rev. Valerie Burgess will officiate. Burial will be in East Lawn Memory Gardens, east of Eldora. Visitation with family present will be 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. service time Saturday at the church. Powers Funeral Home, junction of highways 34 and 25, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Methodist Church or Greater Regional Hospice Home, both in Creston. Betty Palmitier, daughter of Gertrude (Klatt) and Frank W. Crippen, was born Dec. 12, 1921, in Eldora.
Betty graduated from Eldora High School in 1939.
On May 4, 1941, Betty married Lloyd L. Palmitier in Eldora. They lived and worked in Eldora until moving to Creston in 1968.
Betty was a homemaker. She also worked several years at Creston Medical Clinic, retiring in 1984.
After Lloyd’s death in 2003, Betty moved to Crest Ridge Estates.
Betty is survived by her daughter Cheri (husband Dan) May of Adams, Minn.; sons, Steve (wife Teresa) Palmitier of Hinsdale, Ill., and Jack (wife Joy) Palmitier of Creston; daughter-in-law Marci Palmitier of Ankeny; grandchildren, Lance and Alec Palmitier, Tony, Kelly and Mike May, Annie Acker and Katie, Joe and Bridget Palmitier; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son Dave in 2012; brothers, Dallas and Donald Crippen and sister Geraldine Gilchrist.
